On Saturday, September 6, the Bullis community came together to celebrate a milestone in our school’s history—the grand opening of The Sandi Family Lower School.
At this momentous occasion, we announced with gratitude that Emine and Rubar Sandi, parents of Jack ’25 and Jake ’32, made a transformational gift to the Elevating Excellence Campaign, ensuring the new Lower School proudly carries their family’s name.
The Sandis gave with vision and purpose: to create an immediate impact for today’s students while building a legacy that will benefit generations of Bullis learners to come. Their generosity embodies the very best of our community—philanthropy that inspires, uplifts, and shapes the future.
From the very first day of school on September 2, the new Lower School has been alive with energy. Students have eagerly embraced their thoughtfully designed spaces—diving into science and outdoor learning areas, unleashing imagination in light-filled art and music rooms, tinkering in a fully equipped makerspace, exploring their very own library, and moving with joy in a dynamic multipurpose space. These environments, made possible by the Sandis’ gift, spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and foster a love of learning every single day.
The opening of The Sandi Family Lower School represents far more than a new building. It reflects the power of generosity and the enduring impact of one family’s commitment to Bullis. We are profoundly grateful to the Sandis for making this remarkable chapter in our history possible.
