The Lower School, playground, renovated South Hall, and campus loop road have brought meaningful improvements to daily life at Bullis.
Since opening during the 2025–26 school year, the Lower School has provided our youngest learners with a permanent home designed for learning, creativity, and discovery. The completed playground offers space for exploration and play, while the renovated South Hall supports our Middle School community. The campus loop road provides additional space for arrival and dismissal traffic.

Opened during the 2025–26 school year, the Lower School gives our youngest learners a state-of-the-art building designed to support their learning—a space they can truly call their own. Explore the original vision through this architectural fly-through of the spaces where Bullis’ youngest learners now learn and grow.
The modern, light-filled, environmentally friendly building features spacious homerooms; a Lower School library; a makerspace; dedicated movement, art, music, and science classrooms; spaces for math and reading specialists; outdoor learning areas; a counselor’s office; a nurse’s office; an administrative suite; and more.
At recess, a turf field, two sports courts, and a playground serve as hubs for play and community building.
Every indoor and outdoor space is designed to support learning and social-emotional wellness. The building’s central location also creates opportunities for Lower School students to connect with older students through cross-divisional learning and community activities.
The renovated South Hall now serves as the home base for the entire Middle School. Students also have dedicated space in the Marriott Family Library and a makerspace in the Trone Center.
The completed campus loop road supports our school’s growth by providing more space for vehicles on campus during drop-off and pick-up, helping ease traffic congestion on surrounding public roads.
Bullis’s new 11,048 sq. ft. playground is thoughtfully designed to spark joy, imagination, and discovery in our youngest learners. More than just a play space, this vibrant, state-of-the-art environment supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of early learners through a wide range of interactive and age-appropriate activities.
