Our students are excelling—gaining admission to the nation’s top colleges, leading with confidence, and graduating ready to make an impact. Our faculty is deeply engaged in teaching and mentoring. Our programs continue to expand in depth and reach—creating more meaningful opportunities for leadership, exploration, and joy. Across campus, there’s a sense that Bullis is on the edge of something extraordinary.
Yet even in this moment of strength,
We know what must come next.
Many of our classrooms and shared spaces were designed for a different era—before interdisciplinary teaching, flexible scheduling, and experiential learning became central to our work.
Lower School students still operate without a permanent home. Middle Schoolers move across campus between buildings, without a clear divisional hub. Upper School programs in STEM, media, and the arts are pressing against the limits of spaces not built to support their growth.
The Elevating Excellence campaign addresses that challenge directly—not with a stopgap, but with a bold, coordinated plan. One that matches our learning environments to the strength of our students, our faculty, and our community.
Elevating Excellence is the capstone of our current strategic plan—and the launchpad for everything that comes next.
Each element of this campaign reinforces the others. Together, they form the foundation for a more connected, more responsive, and more inspired Bullis experience.
We are in the final stretch of one of the most ambitious campaigns in Bullis history.
The full cost of this transformational campus plan is $43 million. Thanks to strong strategic planning, financial stewardship, and strong internal commitment, Bullis has already committed the majority of that investment. And thanks to early supporters, $12 million in philanthropic gifts has already been raised.
Now, we are inviting our community to help complete the vision—today, just $8 million remains to bring this bold vision to life.
This final stretch isn’t about launching a vision—it’s about delivering on it. It’s about fulfilling a transformation already in motion—and elevating the Bullis experience for every student, every teacher, every division.
What follows is a breakdown of this philanthropic investment—and why every dollar matters.
The centerpiece of Elevating Excellence, The Sandi Family Lower School more than doubles our current K–5 footprint and establish a permanent, purpose-built home for early learning at Bullis.
This is more than a building—it’s a beacon of what we believe about education: That a child’s first experience in school should spark curiosity, build confidence, and cultivate joy.
Bullis’s new 11,048 sq. ft. playground is thoughtfully designed to spark joy, imagination, and discovery in our youngest learners. More than just a play space, this vibrant, state-of-the-art environment supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of early learners through a wide range of interactive and age-appropriate activities.
A reimagined Middle and Upper School environment, where reclaimed and renovated spaces will enhance learning, collaboration, and community—empowering faculty to teach more dynamically and build stronger connections with students.
To support enrollment growth and improve daily life for families, faculty, and neighbors, the campaign will also fund a new loop road to improve traffic circulation during peak pick-up and drop-off times.
Lower schoolers will have a state-of-the-art building designed to maximize their learning—a space they can truly call their own. Fly through the new Lower School building and see the intentionally designed spaces where Bullis’ youngest learners will learn and grow.
The new building will be a modern, light-filled, environmentally friendly beacon of elementary education and features spacious homerooms; a Lower School library; a makerspace; cutting-edge movement, art, music, and science classrooms; space for math and reading specialists; outdoor learning areas; a counselor’s office; a nurse’s office; an administrative suite; and more.
When it’s time for recess, a turf field, two sports courts, and a playground will be hubs for play and community building.
Every space, indoor and outdoor, has been designed to maximize learning and social-emotional wellness. And thanks to the building’s central location, they will be able to convene with older students for cross-divisional learning and community-building activities.
South Hall will be renovated, including the addition of a science lab, and will serve as the home base for the entire Middle School. They will also have a dedicated space in the Marriott Family Library and a makerspace in the Trone Center.
The new loop road is a necessary campus project to accommodate the growth of our school. This new road will increase our capacity for vehicle stacking on interior roads during drop-off and pick-up times and alleviate traffic congestion along public roads.
The Campaign will free up additional learning spaces for Upper School students in the Trone Center.
Classrooms in the Blair Family Center for the Arts that are currently used by the Middle School will be dedicated to Upper School students.

This is our moment to finish what we started. To shape what comes next. To give forward—so Bullis can continue to grow, lead, and thrive in the century ahead. Your gift is not just a contribution. It’s a commitment to Bullis, to our students, and to a future that reflects everything we believe.
