As a proud Bullis parent, Emmanuel Bailey believes there is no better time to invest in the future of the school. His son, Emmanuel H. Bailey, a current sophomore, has flourished in Bullis’ dynamic academic and leadership environment—growing into a compassionate, confident, and intellectually engaged student. That growth inspired Bailey to support the Bullis Fund and the Elevating Excellence Campaign at this critical moment. “This campaign isn’t just about buildings; it’s about impact,” he says. “On students, on families, and on the world those students will one day lead.”
For the Bailey family, Bullis stands apart for its balance of academic rigor and personal development within a genuinely inclusive community. What resonates most is the way the school lifts students to their highest potential while nurturing character, curiosity, and global awareness. “Bullis is more than a school—it’s a community,” Bailey reflects. “My son’s experience here has been transformational.” That sense of transformation extends to Bailey’s enthusiasm for the Elevating Excellence Campaign, which he describes as a bold, forward-looking commitment to excellence. He was particularly inspired by the campaign’s comprehensive approach—reimagining spaces like South Hall, expanding the Lower School, strengthening the endowment, and advancing faculty support and accessibility. A central source of that momentum, he adds, is the visionary leadership of Head of School Christian Sullivan and the exceptional team shaping Bullis’ future.
Bailey encourages others to think long-term when considering their support. “This is a legacy decision,” he says. “Think about the students who will walk these halls decades from now, and how your contribution can help unlock their potential.” For him, being a leadership donor is an opportunity to pay forward the difference Bullis has made in his own family’s life—and to help write the next chapter in the school’s story. “The future of Bullis is being written now,” he says. “And we all have a chance to be authors of that story.”
